Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps on iOS in UAE Q1 2024

The first quarter of 2024 saw significant activity in the Navigation and Maps category on iOS in the United Arab Emirates. Here's a closer look at the performance trends of the top five apps: Google Maps, Yango Maps, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, Google Earth, and Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator).

Google Maps experienced a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, peaking at around 16.7K in mid-February. Weekly active users varied slightly, starting at approximately 965K and ending the quarter at about 977K.

Yango Maps saw a notable spike in downloads, reaching a peak of 11.9K in mid-February. However, its weekly download numbers fluctuated throughout the quarter, with a low of around 5.3K in early January.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a steady user base with active users starting at about 245K and rising to approximately 279K by the end of March. Download numbers showed minor fluctuations, with the highest being around 6.9K in mid-February.

Google Earth had stable download figures, peaking at around 2.2K in early January. Active users ranged from about 9.9K at the start of the quarter to approximately 8.7K towards the end.

Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator) experienced an interesting spike in downloads, reaching nearly 4K in mid-March. Active users also saw a significant increase during this period, from around 1.3K in early January to about 2.4K in mid-March.
